The beauty of exotic flowers and discoveries in science and botany are celebrated in an art of the sixteenth and seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish flower still-life paintings, watercolors, manuscripts, and botanical books. I love the depth and feel of the old masters and experimented with combining modern taste of bright, oversized floral in a darkened Flemish flavored background. The theme is therefore dependent on the framing of this piece which is an ornate gold and green frame fashioned in the Victorian ambiance.
