Enchanted Estuary

I call this fun oil painting “Enchanted Estuary”. I looked up the word enchanted in the dictionary just for fun and found the definition to be: “To charm, delight or captivate somebody, to put somebody or something under a spell, to cast a spell on somebody or something. “ What a perfect definition of what happened in painting this fantasy. I felt like I did as a child when my imagination was allowed to just run wild with no sense of reality. Estuary is a place where fresh and salt water mix. I loved mixing up the mermaids and the fairy flying on the blue bird and visualized what a thrill it would be to ride the giant turtles I swam with in the Caribbean. I love to snorkel, for hours and hours on end until my body is shriveled like a ripe prune. My husband says he didn’t realize he married a mermaid when he married me and I think his words had a lot to do with these images. The only exception is this real life grandmother of ten only resembles a mermaid in spirit and imagination.
